The Open Path Centre began with a simple belief that research and innovation should be accessible, inclusive, and impactful. Founded out of a desire to open doors for emerging professionals and communities, the Foundation was created to bridge the gap between data and real-world change.

Today, The Open Path Centre continues to create open avenues for growth and discovery through mentorship, research, and innovation. Our programs help emerging researchers, youth, and communities harness the power of data and technology to build brighter, more equitable futures.

Our Programs and Initiatives
At the Open Path Centre, our initiatives reflect our belief that research and innovation should serve people by expanding access, building skills, and strengthening community leadership. Our work includes the Digital Access and Research Capacity Project, data literacy programming, community data hubs, technology-enabled research supports, and national data collection for AI and data literacy research. In partnership with Watson & Company Research Inc., we also advance mentorship pathways and career exploration opportunities for youth, connecting research, technology, and future workforce development.
